My husband David and I purchased the cottage on Governors Avenue in Greenwood in 1984 as a rental property alongside our residence next door. We later moved and through the years the property was owned by several family members at different times. In 2006 we were excited to buy the cottage back, and we began the renovation to transform the property into our vision now know as Shalom's "Guest House", a place for those needing to rest and rejuvenate.
Shalom Guest Retreat is located in the small, quiet town of Greenwood, Delaware, in the northwest corner of Sussex County. Conveniently located approximately 30 miles to beautiful Delaware beaches, shopping outlets, and many dining options. We have since moved out of town to the "J&M House", which is located 2 miles south of Greenwood, a quiet little house that we use as an Airbnb and also as an event space for weddings, parties, etc.
